LOCATION AND ADDRESS OF THE VILLAGE HALL
The Village of Marston Magna lies between Mudford and Queen Camel, and Marston Magna Village Hall is situated in the southern edge of Marston Magna by the side of the A359 which is the main road through the Village and is next to the Playing Field. BACKGROUND
The Hall was built in 1994 and was officially opened later that year. The management of the Hall is administered by Marston Magna Village Hall Management Committee and is a registered Charity. The Committee consists of members either elected or co-opted onto the Committee, who then annually elect the officers of the Committee.
OUR FACILITIES
What do we have?
- A large Main Hall, perfect for parties, weddings, large events, musical performances, indoor sports, discos, dinners etc.
- A smaller room, perfect for Committee meetings, business events, small groups and intimate functions.
- A modern fitted kitchen, with dishwasher, crockery for large scale catering, 2 modern large ovens, a large storage fridge. Tablecloths and table decorations can be made available on request.






- Amenities
- A cloakroom and toilets including a separate fully accessible toilet.
- Accessible parking in front of, and access to, the interior of the Hall.
- Induction hearing loop fitted in the Main Hall.
- All areas of the Hall are centrally heated by a ‘smart’ Oil fired heating system.
- Approximately 30 car parking spaces in front of the Hall, as well as cycle parking for up to 12 cycles.
- Entertainment
- The Hall holds the relevant Performing Rights Society Licences as well as an Entertainment licence to play live or recorded music.
- The Hall also has an Alcohol Licence, which can be applied for during the booking process.
- A projector, screens and music systems can also be provided for additional cost. A full media suite is due to be fitted in the near future.
- Superfast wi-fi which is available in all areas of the hall.
- A stage (raised platform) is available for hire on request.
- Direct access to the Village Playground, which is entirely enclosed, providing a safe area in which to play.
SPACE AND LICENSING
Main Hall Dimensions – 15m long x 10.5m wide x 2.8m high.
Meeting Room Dimensions – 6m long x 4.5m wide x 2.5m high.
The maximum numbers of persons to be allowed on the premises at any time during a hiring or performance are:
- When used for a closely seated audience or used for dancing – 300 persons
- When seating is provided at tables – 125 persons
- When used for dancing and seating is also provided at tables – 160 persons
The Hall has adequate tables and chairs to support the maximum numbers of people allowed under its’ licence and this is included in the Hire charge. However, should seating be required for in excess of 200 persons, then the Management Committee reserve the right to agree a separate scale of charges.

Payments: For one off hire, all payments must be made before commencement of hire. Although cash and cheques are accepted, preferred payment is via BACS to:

Returnable deposit: The deposit should be paid by cash or BACS payment before the start of hire. If paying the deposit by cheque, then it should be given at least one week before hire to allow for it to be cashed.
All deposits shall be refunded within 72 hours after end of hire, providing all the Terms and Conditions as listed in the ‘Conditions of Hire’ document have been complied with.
HALL CALENDAR
The Village Hall Management Committee also organise regular fund raising events, all profits from which go toward the running costs of the Hall and to pay for improvements to, and maintenance of, the Hall. Details of availability of the hall are also show in the calendar. Note that a ‘busy’ marker in the calendar will mean that the hall is unavailable.
